I am free from work at the moment so I can have more time to write more and post more! I have been working 12-14 hours a day recently! So glad to have some time off on my own.
Today I would like to show you my recent beauty routine! In my previous post, I have posted how I changed my brows for a thicker & darker look. These days I am exploring some Chanel skincare products and sporting a more natural makeup look. You don’t have to use the same products that I use here, but the point is just to share with you all a very simple, basic skincare routine of mine.
So Here we go. Skincare first.
Washed my face with the Kanebo Suisai Clear Beauty Powder. I have reviewed about it before, you can click here to read about it. Toned my face with Avène Toner. This is a very gentle toner and it does its job for moisturizing your skin well. Avène is alcohol-free & oil-free , and most of its products are suitable for sensitive skin. I switch my beauty routine or the products that I use according to the need to my skin.
Apply Moisturizing Serum, here I am using Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Serum. The Serum has a gel like texture, and it has a really nice fragrance to it. Once I have applied it to my skin, my skin instantly feel moisturized and it absorbs very well. It just sinks into my skin. I am loving this serum lately. I bring the sample size everywhere!
Then eye cream! The skin around my eyes are very tired because I haven’t been getting enough sleep, and eyecream is a must for me! Eyes are the first thing people look at when they talk to you, and bright eyes screams youthfulness! Here I am using Chanel Le Lift Firming Anti-Wrinkle eye cream. The texture of the cream is creamy but not too heavy, and gives the right amount of moisture. Makeup also glides on well! The little sample size is a must have in my gym bag.
This one you can skip it if you want – facial oil. I love oils. Oils are so beneficial to your skin and people in the old times had always used oil to moisturize their skin. You just need to pick a good one that is natural and wont clog your pores. So I got this HABA whitening squalane facial oil when I travelled to Japan, and it was number 1 facial oil in Japan, so out of curiosity I bought two to try. I just put two drops of it onto my palms, warm it up and press onto my face and neck to add that additional moisture. Because in Asia, we are constantly under the air con, and I’d like to give my skin extra protection from the air con sucking out moisture from my skin.
Last but not least, apply a face cream with SPF for the day. I am obsessed with SPF and sunblock. On a normal day after I applied my day cream with SPF I still add another layer of regular sunblock. The reason is that if you only rely on a day cream with SPF alone, the amount you apply is probably too little for the SPF indicated to work. According to Dermatologist Dr. Hale (read here), we are suppose to apply a “nickel-sized dollop” to the face alone. Here I am using Shiseido Elixir Day Care Revolution day cream with SPF 50. Many of the creams with SPF will have a white cast to it, and this one has that too. The good thing is that the white cast is minimal and it doesn’t last long, 2 minutes after you apply the cream. The white cast will disappear. This cream is very good because it offers enough moisturization, a good degree of SPF (SPF 15 is certainly not enough in the summer) and also anti-aging property. All in one, I would say. The price is also very friendly, costing ¥3,360.
So that’s it for my day time skin care routine! I am going to continue in the following post on how I go on to apply make up for a natural just-running-errands-aound-town look. Stay tuned!
xoxo meesh
