The designer behind the label is Han Chong, Central St Martins alumnus. Originally from Malaysia, where he describes as “fashion wasn’t a big deal”. His parents wanted him to study art, but he discovered fashion along the way.

He chose to study at Central Saint Martin because he is very much inspired by Alexander McQueen. He has also been working in the fashion industry for over 10 years. He has co founded Three floors before he launched Self-Portrait in 2013.
